4A would get one extra qualifier based on fastest District Meet time, 5A would get three, and 6A would get two.

They probably just need to bite the bullet and make the day session of day 2 longer with relay prelims. Perhaps give thought to moving the 3k to day 3 (day 2 for big schools) with the rest of the running event finals, following a traditional 1-day meet format. That would keep the days more in balance.
Dan
I understand that it's an experiment and with this new three-day, six class format there probably isn't time for prelims in those events.
But the meet shouldn't drag on like that, especially what happened on Friday night at the end of the small-schools meet. A first section of four teams and a second section of five or six ... was ridiculous. The teams were so far spaced out that even the threadbare promise of competition was lost. And it was cold. And too long.
My two cents.

True, but any time approaching 9:30 in the girls 3k is going to be US Top-10/15 when you combine the 3k-2mile events. And it helps when meets like Arcadia and NBON get 3k splits en route to their longer distances.

Her sister Kerisaa was right behind her.
Venessa is now No. 12 all-time (all classes) in the 100, No. 4 in the 200 and No. 5 in the 400.
And the twins are both juniors. Wow.
I'm on board with that! Thoroughly dominating performance, made all the more impressive by having some historically strong competition to beat out. And add in some great 4x400 running in what will be an overlooked performance due to the dropped baton.

Liberty into 2nd with 150m left. CV gets tripped from behind and drops baton! Official right there and doesn't raise a flag... 51.1/2:34.3 Sherwood. Two officials talking, likely a protest or overrule of some sort to come... Sherwood uncontested on anchor, 50.2/3:24.78. Madison 3:27.62, Hood River 3:28.19, Liberty 3:28.22.
Marist (5A) was the 15'6" pole vaulter.
Lincoln No. 2 all-time

Central Catholic No. 5 all-time
Grants Pass is the other blue team, now dropping back. West Linn out strong again, takes the lead from CC. Grant in 3rd, Lincoln in 4th. Grant moving up into 2nd, West Linn still with a decent lead. Cc holding 2nd now. Into 1st... 58.8/2:56.0 for West Linn and CC in a dead heat at 1200m, West Linn again out very hard but Grant moving up with 200m left. Four in striking distance. Lincoln in the mix now but boxed a bit. Grant on the inside. CC fighting for it, Lincoln moving up on the outside. Three across at the finish!!! 56.2/3:52.47 for Lincoln. 3:52.55 Grant, 3:52.62 Central Catholic, 3:53.57 Grants Pass, 3:53.64 West Linn. Heck of a finish.
15'6" clearance, new meet record, in the boys pole vault. Not sure of the classification and team.
South Medford back into the lead on leg 3, but Sheldon instantly fights back at the end of the 2nd turn. Sheldon pulling away on the homestretch. 60.8/3:02.3. South Medford and Tigard chasing, but Sheldon a 10m+ lead on the backstretch. Sheldon's turnover looks a bit slow with 200m to go ... lead is shrinking. South Medford almost cuaght up with 100m to go but SHeldon has a bit left. Sheldon *barely* holds on. 59.9/4:01.79. South Medford 4:01.83, Tigard 4:03.53.
